This is the fourth concert in our 2018-2019 Music for Humanity Concert Series. Written in 2016 by Craig Hella Johnson, this new oratorio recounts the brutal murder of Matthew Shepard, a gay college student in Laramie, Wyoming. Johnson weaves together a vast range of musical styles to reflect the universality of this story.
The UCONN Chamber Singers will join CONCORA to mark the twentieth anniversary of Matthew Shepard’s death.
Jamie Spillane will conduct, with Chris Shepard at the piano.
